Loyola/JEA Fall 2018 Conference Schedule


Fall 2018 Conference Information

The registration form will be available soon for the September 27, 2018 Loyola University New Orleans School of Mass Communication and Louisiana Journalism Education Association Fall Conference co-sponsored by the Press Club of New Orleans.

The cost is $20 per student and includes workshops, lunch in the Danna Center and a conference T-shirt.  There is no charge for advisors. Checks should be made payable to “Loyola University” and brought to the conference registration table outside Nunemaker Auditorium on the third floor of Monroe Hall between 8 – 9:30 a.m. on the day of the conference, Thursday, Feb. 1. We will accept cash.

The conference will feature sessions on yearbook, broadcast, online, social media, podcasting and newspaper journalism. The conference will conclude with an awards ceremony for Yearbook Journalism.

The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. in Nunemaker Auditorium on the third floor of Monroe Hall.

8:30 – 9:15 a.m. – Check in & Breakfast  – Nunemaker Auditorium Lobby – 3rd Floor Monroe Hall – Breakfast sponsored by Walsworth Yearbooks

9:20 – 10:00 a.m. – Welcome and Keynote – Nunemaker Auditorium – 3rd Floor Monroe Hall

10:00 – 10:20 a.m. Yearbook Awards Ceremony – Nunemaker Auditorium – 3rd Floor Monroe Hall

10:30 – 11:30 a.m. – Session One  Large Sessions

  • Yearbook Session – Nunemaker Auditorium
  • Broadcast Session – Communication & Music Complex, Room 402, Studio A
  • Freelance Writing/Marketing – Claiborne Room, Danna Student Center

11:40 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. – Lunch – Danna Student Center St. Charles Room

12:30 – 1:20 p.m. – Session Two (various campus locations)

1:30 – 2:20 p.m. – Session Three (various campus locations)

Session programs will be available Monday, September 17, and will be posted on the JEA Louisiana website and emailed.
